Donnal's Hair Design

Founded by Donnal Chung, Donnal's salon offers clients creativity and personalized style. Donnal began his career in 1976 and, after numerous seasons of runway and television work, moved to St. Louis in 1987. A few years later, he opened Donnal's Hair Design. Stylists at Donnal's undergo rigorous training and many of Donnal's clients travel from around the country for Donnal's hair-only services.

Donnal Chung, L'Oreal Professionnel Fashion Week Hair Team Leader
Donnal Chung, born in China, began his career as a hair stylist in 1976 in Hong Kong. After completing a three year program there, he moved to London to further his education and interned there for two additional years. For the next four years he traveled between Hong Kong and Taiwan, doing television and runway work. He moved to St. Louis in 1987 and later in 1993 he opened Donnal's Hair Design.

Yong Liu
Yong Liu came to St. Louis from China in 2002. He has always had an interest in design and fashion. He met Donnal in 2005 and went to train at Donnal's salon. He is looking forward to completing Donnal's three-year training program in the next few months. Yong looks forward to staying at Donnal's and working as a stylist, specializing in color, cut, and blow-dry.

Ruth Ogilvie
A St. Louis native, Ruth Ogilvie came to Donnal's after earning her Bachelor's of Art Degree at Washington University in 2005. Realizing a good opportunity that would combine her interests in style with creative expression, she began formal training a year later. Ruth is hoping to graduate Donnal's apprentice program in 2009 and to further pursuing her career at Donnal's.

Frances Pham
Frances Pham is a recent addition to the Donnal's team. Originally from Taiwan and Vietnam, she attended the Grabber Cosmetology School. She then worked as a stylist for three years before coming to Donnal's in September of 2008. She is learning quickly in Donnal's apprentice program as well as working towards her instructors' license. at the Grabber School.

Tuan Le
Tuan Le came to St. Louis 5 years ago from Vietnam. Originally at college to study international business, his strong interest in fashion quickly led him to change directions and become a hairstylist . After completing cosmetology school in 2008, he approached Donnal about becoming one of his students. He believes that one of the more important lessons learned from Donnal is that a hairstylist has a duty to bring confidence and happiness to their clients.
